Zaidi
Zaidi is a next-generation, brassinolide-based plant growth promoter developed to enhance crop productivity naturally and sustainably. Zaidi contains 0.025% Brassinolide, a naturally occurring phytosteroid that activates (crucial physiological functions) enhanced growth in plants. Designed especially for tea but effective on other crops as well, Zaidi works as a foliar spray to improve plant vigor, photosynthesis, and yield — even under moisture stress.
How Zaidi Works
Brassinolides like those found in Zaidi act at the cellular level to influence key stages of plant development. Once absorbed through the leaves, Zaidi enhances:
-
Photosynthesis efficiency: Boosts chlorophyll synthesis, enabling better light absorption and carbohydrate production.
-
Cell division and elongation: Stimulates rapid and healthy vegetative growth.
-
Nutrient partitioning: Ensures assimilates like sugars and proteins are directed to vital organs such as shoots, fruits, and roots.
-
Enzymatic activity: Modulates key enzymes involved in metabolic processes.
-
Stress tolerance: Increases the plant’s resilience to drought, salinity, and temperature extremes.
Benefits of using Zaidi
Using Zaidi consistently across a growing season results in noticeable improvements in both plant health and yield. Key benefits include:
-
Enhanced Early Growth
Promotes robust seedling establishment and vegetative growth, especially important after transplanting or pruning. -
Accelerated Bud Break
In tea and other perennials, Zaidi stimulates early and uniform bud break, reducing dormancy periods. -
Increased Leaf Area & Shoot Density
Encourages the formation of larger leaves and more pluckable or harvestable shoots per unit area. -
Reduction of ‘Banjhi’ Buds
Minimizes the occurrence of unproductive or dormant buds, particularly in tea, leading to higher productivity. -
Improved Photosynthetic Rate
Increases the efficiency of photosynthesis, boosting biomass accumulation and overall plant vitality. -
Stress Mitigation
Helps plants recover faster from water stress, pruning shock, and other environmental challenges. -
Better Yield Without Compromising Quality
Enables greater harvest volumes with consistent quality parameters—leaf size, color, and chemical content (in tea, for example). -
Low Application Rate and Cost-Effectiveness
Just 40 ml per acre (or 100 ml per hectare), applied three times at monthly intervals during key growth phases.
Where Zaidi is effective
Zaidi is well-suited to diverse agro-climatic zones, especially areas affected by erratic rainfall or dry spells. Its impact is particularly visible in:
-
Kericho, Nandi Hills, and Bomet – Tea estates and smallholder zones
-
Murang’a, Embu, and Nyeri – Mixed horticultural and tea farming systems
-
Meru, Kisii, and Kakamega – Agroforestry zones with perennials and fruit trees
-
Kiambu, Limuru, and Machakos – Regions prone to seasonal drought
-
Mt. Elgon and Trans Nzoia – Cereals and legume-based systems
