Moisture Retention for short term crops. Its biodegradable and non-toxic
Okoamaji is the sustainable solution for short term water conservation for crops.
Okoamaji is a short term water retainer that, when incorporated into a soil or a substrate, absorbs and retains large quantities of water and nutrients. Unlike most products that become hydrated, Okoamaji has the property of easily releasing the absorbed water and nutrients, thereby allowing the plant to have water and nutrients available at will as a function of the absorption – release cycles.

About Okoamaji
The facts about our powerful short-term water retainer for vegetables and horticulture.
- Reduces watering frequency for irrigated crops
- Reduces leaching of nutrients
- Enhances plant growth through continuous availability of water and absorbed nutrients
- Helps to aerate the soils by expanding when absorbing water and contracting when releasing water
- Degrades naturally
- Ideal for short-duration crops
How Okoamaji Works
- The polymer consists of a set of polymeric chains that are parallel to each other and regularly linked to each other by cross-linking agents. This forms a network.
- When water comes into contact with one of these chains, it’s drawn into the molecule by osmosis.
- Water rapidly migrates into the interior of the polymer network where it is stored.
- As the soil dries out, the polymer releases up to 95% of the absorbed water into the soil.
How Okoamaji is Applied?
Per Plant Application
- Okoamaji works best when it’s applied before planting. One of the ways it can be applied is by taking a pinch, about 2 grams and putting it in the planting hole.
- At this point, you can also add a pinch of Earthlee which can unlock nutrients that are essential for germination.
- Once this is done add some topsoil into the hole and mix thoroughly.
- Once the mixing is done, add your preferred short-term corp and plant it according to the plating guide specification.
- Finally, water generously to activate Okoamaji and Earthlee.
Planting Row Application
- Okoamaji works best when it’s applied before planting. Another way it can be applied is by taking a teaspoon, about 20 grams and evenly spread it over a 1 m2 section of the planting bed. Please repeat this process till the entire bed is covered.
- At this point you can also add 20g of Earthlee per 1 m2 area till the entire planting bed is covered, which can unlock nutrients that are essential for germination.
- Once this is done you add some top soil into on top of the Earthlee and Okoamaji and mix thoroughly.
- Once the mixing is done, add your preferred short term corp and plant it according to the plating guide specification.
- Finally water generously to activate Okoamaji and Earthlee.
Benefits and advantages of applying Okoamaji
Reasons to apply our short-term water retainer in your process!
Healthier Plants
- A steady level of moisture in the soil has been shown to benefit microorganic life in the soil, resulting in better nutrient uptake through the root system.
- Consistent moisture levels tending to the optimal means more effective plant development. In this case, microorganisms in the ground provide a healthy, balanced soil life, helping more effective nutrient uptake and storage of essential elements like phosphorus.
- Healthier plants exhibit increased stress resistance, promising better durability in case of extreme weather conditions.
Water conservation for all soil types
- Okoamaji can be applied to all soil types and in both arid and well drained soils. The benefits to the soil and quality of the soil are advantageous to farmers and landscapers.
Save Water
- Water Efficieny is increased by 50% by using Okoamaji. This means you use 50% less water and can easily apply that moisture to other crops or extend the usage for your crops.
- There essential savings that come with the reduction in watering cost/ time recovered and better sustainability practices that are applied on your farming operation.
- Okoamaji is active for about a year and the annual savings generated over that period with subsequent plantings will save water and hopefully increase the farmers bottom line.
Biodegradable and Non-Toxic
- Okoamaji is biodegradable and non-toxic to the soils and crops. The polymers used to make Okoamaji are more environmentally friendly and sustainability conscious than many products in the market.
Better Soil Health
- Okoamaji expands as it absorbs moisture and contracts as it releases moisture. This allows for aeration of soils and keeps the microorganisms in the soil moving and building your soil.
- There is more consistent availability of moisture and this in turn keeps the soil moist which allows the entire soil profile to take in and hold more water when it rains. Healthy soil acts much like a sponge, with its ability to absorb and hold much of its volume in water
